One of the most stunning headland settings in the UK at Penlee Point, near Cawsand in Cornwall

1 The Old Signal House is the southern and largest part of the Trinity Lighthouse building which was originally used to service the Eddystone Lighthouse, seven miles offshore.

Situated in splendid isolation on the headland at Penlee Point, the house is reached by its own one mile drive through the woodland of the Mount Edgcumbe Estate to a private car park. The house is at the foot of 70 steps just above the rocks with the most amazing sea views. A delightful sandy beach is adjacent to the house along a private path.

Rame Head is a delightful half hour walk along the coastal path. The twin seaside villages of Cawsand and Kingsand are walking distance with their popular beaches and eateries.

There is a seasonal ferry from Cawsand beach into the heart of Plymouth. The three mile surfing beach of Whitsand Bay is a short distance away.

Guest reviews

We have just returned from a week’s break at The Old Signal House and thought it was wonderful. The house is great, it is very modern inside, decorated and furnished to a high standard and very clean. It was really comfortable with plenty of room. The views of the sea are truly amazing, we spent lots of time enjoying seeing the boats passing by. It really felt a special place.

Have been visiting Plymouth for over 40 years but this is the best view ever.

The Bishop family, Brighton

Amazing home in a spectacular location. This place really has the wow factor in terms of views and who knew there was so much activity on the waterways.
